Woolen, Worsted & all things Betwixt

Handspinning workshop with Atropos Textile Studio

July 26th | $130.00

11am - 4pm

Three Loves, Nampa, ID.

“Woolen, Worsted, & all things Betwixt," is part of our Fundamentals of Handspinning series, where we focus on skill-building and intent spinning to help prepare spinners to create any yarns they desire.

In this workshop, we will distinguish between woolen, worsted, semi-worsted, and semi-woolen yarns, explore their characteristics, uses, strengths/weaknesses, and construction. In addition, we will investigate various fiber preparations and implement spinning/plying techniques to create these different yarns.

Our goal is for the spinner to create spin samples to compare and contrast for their own references, gain more information on how different techniques translate into final garments/fabric, and have the ability to implement the workshop information to their practice on their own using our correlating booklet.
